Adega do Cantor translates as Winery of the Singer and is situated in Guia in the centre of the Algarve.

It was built to produce wine, principally the Vida and Onda Nova ranges. They are Quinta do Moinho, Quinta do Miradouro and Vale do Sobreiro.

Together the vineyards produce the region’s greatest wines using a combination of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques.

Cliff vineyardCliff Richard

After bursting onto the rock’n’roll scene in 1958 with the hit single Move It, Cliff Richard was soon hailed as Britain’s answer to Elvis Presley. Over 50 years and a knighthood later, Sir Cliff is still active in the music industry, but he also finds time to produce world-class wines from his vineyard in Portugal. He’s very much involved in producing the wines and can often be seen getting his hands dirty in the vineyard.

David BaverstockDavid Baverstock

David Baverstock was part of the pioneering ‘flying winemakers’ who have influenced nearly every wine on the market today. Born in Adelaide in 1955, David went on to train at Woseworthy College in the late 1970s. In 1982 he headed to Portugal, making his mark on Port and light wines in the Douro, principally with Quinta de la Rosa, Quinta de Fojo and Quinta do Crasto. He then travelled south to Alentejo where he developed the critically acclaimed wines at Herdade de Esporão before travelling on to the Algarve. Along the way, David has won the Portuguese Red Wine Trophy at the 1999 and 2002 International Wine Challenge and Winemaker of the Year (Portugal) in 1999. He was the first non-Portuguese winemaker to do so.
